Pattern Roundup #7 - Accessories!

Pattern Roundup #7 - Accessories!

There's so many pluses to sewing accessoreis! They are usually a quick sew, which we all know can be super-satisfying when we're between projects (or working on something huge), and want a 'quick-fix' make to boost our sewjo.
They also usually use small amounts of fabric, and so are great for using up leftovers from your activewear projects. Let's dive into making accessories for our active lives!

Easy Bike Seat Cover Tutorial

Easy Bike Seat Cover Tutorial

My poor bike seat has seen better days! The silicon padding is still good, but the lycra cover has ripped beyond help. So when I dropped off my bike for a well-deserved service, I kept the seat with me and whipped up a funky seat cover to cover up the rip. The result was so nifty I thought I would share it with you in a quick tutorial. It’s also a great way to use up some scraps of stretchy fabric!

Pattern Roundup #6 - Outdoor Gear!

Pattern Roundup #6 - Outdoor Gear!

It's officially Winter in Australia so we've all been thinking about our cold-weather sewing projects. Restrictions are easing and we're all looking forward to getting out and about - so of course we're looking at outdoor and cold-weather projects!

Denim Adventures!

It's been a while in the making, but these denim fabrics are worth the wait. I got stuck into two of these new fabrics to try my hand at making jeans.

Pattern Roundup #5 - Sweaters and Hoodies!

There's a tonne of patterns for sweaters and fleecy hoods out there, so I've just chosen a few to showcase here, mostly because they feature a unique detail or some funky styling.

Pattern Roundup #4 - Activewear Patterns for Men!

Pattern Roundup #4 - Activewear Patterns for Men!

Not so long ago, activewear sewing patterns for women were limited to some 1980s leotards and the ubiquitous one-pattern-piece legging. Thankfully that has all changed and there is a wide range of patterns for many shapes and sizes now available (check out some of my previous posts!)
Men's activewear patterns, on the other hand, are still in their infancy. However, if you know where to look, there are some real treasures around. Read on to find out more!
